You can paint boats, too, and make that art as well. Nothing wrong with
    that. Art boats. Its great.

no.if you take your easel to the waterfront and paint a boat it means
nothing except you like boats.”i like boats” says nothing .

Not depicting subject matter as abstraction is too a limitation because it
is a reaction. What of language & symbol beyond the visual field. Perhaps
    the diagram is all.

Also It may kinda look the same all over… but it’s also kinda not… for
sure…. SERIOUSLY. I went to art school. What? Don’t give me that look-_-

Pollack came along at the right time, was aware of what was going on around
him and had some balls. He’s not the greatest artist ever, but he’s a real
artist. This is not a CIA “whatever.” In essence, I agree with you Hisham
El Fangery. I still would like to resurrect Clement Greenberg so that I
could kick him in the balls. Just my own pet peeves…

What about people who generally liked his art? Did you just discount them
all together? I know conspiracy theories are alot more exciting than the
boring old truth, but please give me a break with that stuff!

Brought to you by the CIA and a bunch of rich bastards who wanted to get
more rich thanks to their ability to mislead you!

  • Wenceslao Futanki July 9, 2012 - 12:24 pm Reply

you got it man, but is far more complex, pollock got famous thanks to a
conspiracy involving many actors including the CIA, most fools dont have an
    idea of this truth

His technique was significant and bold at the time. Today, it would be like
you communicating your resentment using face-to-face communication.

it’s the one good thing about art. In that you don’t need talent to be
successful. If you created music by randomly banging on the keys, people
would obviously see it for the garbage that it is. But in art, you could
actually create something like this, sip a chai latte and go
“Flabadabadabadabadabadaaa”, and if your audience is Truly DUMB enough,
    they’ll “see it”.

Pollocks view points on art are so basic, and understanding. One of the
    most influential.

  • T. Aitherena July 19, 2012 - 2:30 pm Reply

Being an influential and famous artist while alive is always complicate.
Only some very few virtuoso can make it.

But you couldn’t be Jackson Pollock.

  • D3TOSS July 29, 2012 - 2:44 pm Reply

very good, because he was the first one who used that technique, if u would
put paint into ur nose and really sneeze, then its pretty original, but if
someone would just make the same paintings as him, the same moevements etc.
then its just a copy for me.

  • DarkAlleyDigital July 30, 2012 - 7:49 pm Reply

If somebody sneezing on a canvas is enough to be considered “just a copy”
than honestly how good was the original it copied from?
