It’s the chaos of existence. Much as even if God designed the universe,
it’s still just random chaos that we try (and fail) to impose order upon.

So…you look up Jackson Pollock on youtube just to ***** about it? Sure,
you’re “thinking” what you’re typing, but it’s still just random bullshit
spackle. I will never appreciate it. 🙂 All kidding aside, though…one day
you might dig it. He’s my favorite artist and 20 years ago I thought it was
    trash.

Laziest art making ever. Even Ringo Starrs awful MS paints take more effort
to achieve. He moves back and forth and left to right like he’s making a
pizza with toppings. Throw some **** there, flick some **** there. Sure
he’s “designing” it, but it’s still just random bullshit spackle. I will
    never appreciate it.

His paintings restate the negativeness of the universe. The hideous lonely
emptiness of existence. Nothingness. The predicament of Man forced to live
in a barren, Godless eternity like a tiny flame flickering in an immense
void with nothing but waste, horror and degradation, forming a useless
bleak straitjacket in a black absurd cosmos.

The art world is run by artists believe it or not. Pollock was repeatedly
told he wouldn’t make it but his art fits into the movement of the time.
The entire 1900s consisted of questioning art… Modern art’s entire
purpose has been to question traditional art. Poets wrote about how ugly
roses are and how beautiful broken glass is for imagism. Artists would take
objects (a urinal for instance) and make a slight change and call it art.
Pollock’s technique questions the need for a “picture.”

I dont understand how the word, “fraud” has made its way into the world of
contemporary and abstract art! And, I believe that more than Jackson
Pollock found that Jackson Pollock was doing something important. How else
could he have rose above so many others in such a competitive art scene?!?!

It may turn out “intresting” but come on… It’s not GOOD. Its like fraud
art where even the artist convinces his own self that what hes doing is
    important.

Second, pollock was amazing because he had such a different approach to
painting with no subject matter. He was quoted as saying “I don’t paint
nature, I am nature” each painting is an embodiment of pollock himself”

2:03 “I want to express my feelings rather than illustrate them” Well said.

The quality of this little piece of film is abysmal but nevertheless it is
a joy to watch Pollock paint. He moves like a dancer, completely immersed
    in what he’s doing.

For some reason I love the bit at the end where he flicks his cigarette…
